Alcobendas is located 15 km from the capital Madrid and has a population of about 113,000 inhabitants. Since the last century, this city has experienced a remarkable growth in large shopping centers: La Vega, Moraleja Green and Leisure Center Diversia and development of the industrial area.

Historically, Alcobendas is associated with San Sebastián de los Reyes, as the two cities were separated by a few streets and founded by some inhabitants of Alcobendas who fled their fiefs because of the harsh conditions.
